Fair Wind Wine – Merchant sailing ship in Dublin
On Sat 13 March the Etoile the France a sailing ship or merchant ship was in Dublin the 1st time this year and this week it will already be back again with more wine. The 2nd shipment this year of “green” wines will arrive in Dublin Docklands on the 15 April. Guests are invited to climb aboard and sample a variety of red and white wines on board the tall ship, Etoile the France until the 18th April. CTMV Fair Wind Wine Ltd, whose inaugural shipment by sail to Ireland took place last July, was the first sustainable transport company to send exclusive French wines to Dublin using green energy. Now a 3rd consignment of 15,000 bottles will arrive soon. The Etoile de France, a 61 year old, three masted tall ship or schooner, will be berthed at Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, Docklands, Dublin 2 from Wed 15th April to Sat 18th April.
Last time the admission charge to enter the ship was €5 per adult (admission is free for under 15 yrs and over 78 year olds). So it is not a free event, but watching the unloading of the ship and the viewing from land are free!
