Green Your OfficeDid you know that the average office worker uses 10,000 sheets of copy paper each year? Feeling a little guilty?

Well there’s good news, by incorporating a few of our green office tips you’ll save not just paper, but also electricity and some hard earned cash.

Online’s the way to go: Online banking saves that all important time, paper and postage costs.

Turn it off: Your computer deserves a rest after a hard day’s work.

Print double-sided. If maths isn’t your forte: you’ll use 1/2 as much paper.

Buy Recycled: Buy recycled paper and paper based products.

Spread the word: Encourage your colleagues to go green in the office.

Energy Features: Make sure energy saving features on PCs, printers and photocopiers are enabled.

Save the ink: Draft quality printouts use less toner. Select ‘draft’ printouts when using the ‘Print’ command on your computer.

Biz travel: Traveling by plane, train or automobile creates a lotta CO2. See if your business will purchase offsets to help avert this.

Slim your way to a greener office: Lifts use a lot of power moving us up and down.  Why not walk up or down the stairs instead – get fit while saving energy consumption.

I just happened upon your website and decided to leave a comment.
We just had a Christmas dinner yesterday, free of charge provided by our company and prepared by our cafeteria staff Campbell’s catering. Dinner was very nice and I have no complaints there. However, it breaks my heart afterwards to see when the staff clean up, all the soft drink cans (coke, 7up, etc) go in with general waste. Easily, over a thousand cans were thrown away that day. We do have can recycling bins and the company has a green websites to encourage recycling ideas.
The above still happens, and it SHOULD NOT. If it happens in our company no doubt it happens in companies and schools all over Ireland. It is just not acceptable this day and age.
Do you have any practical suggestions no make it encourage and make it easy for people to recycle. All suggestions are welcome.
